L: 5,4 m, W:2,70 m, H: 0,90 m

Installation view as shown at

Carlsberg City Gallery and Art Center / Carlsberg Byens Galleri og Kunstsalon, Cph, DK.

Atrophy is a medical term that denotes shrinkage of tissue, body or organ. The cause of this condition can be normal physiological development, poor nutritional status, reduced use or old age.

Like the figure 8 the sculpture winds itself in the installtion space of the exhibition Room Service. 8 used to he symbol of eterníty, but this time it looks weakened and not fit for eternal life and is being kept up. Like a body of an animal or an alien existence the sculpture is an image of how man's body over time might end up in atrophy, because of less muscular use, due to more and more use of digital devices in daily life in our digital age.

Ask Masks

2017

HD, silent

Dur: 1:20 min (loop)

Installation view at Lviv National Art Gallery, Lviv, Ukraine

The mask is once again being examined. The masks in this video piece appears at first hand as empty 2 dimensional shells.

But, by time and the movement in circles, they become as 3-dimensional objects themselves, without the mask wearer. This makes them at one time both more concrete and also more mysterious.
